Emerson Franklin ""Frank"" Finley, 75, Seymour, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at IU Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Emerson graduated from Austin High School and was of the Catholic faith. He retired from the Air Force in 1974 after 20 years. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He moved to Jackson County in 1996 and previously lived in Bartholomew County.
Born Nov. 7, 1937, in Scottsburg, he was the son of Earl Edward Finley and Maymie Cole Finley. On July 26, 1996, in Columbus, he married Connie Wheeler Finley, who survives in Seymour.
Other survivors include children, Angie Davies of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael (Lora) Finley, Littleton, Colo., and Sandy Schmidt, North Platte, Neb.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Joe (Dezra) Finley, Franklin, Roy (Wanda) Finley, Taylorsville, Kevin Poore, Seymour, and Raymond (Dorothy) Finley, Morgantown; one sister, Sue (Bob) Kincaid, Franklin; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Walker, Crothersville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronnie Finley; a brother, Edison Ray Finley; and a sister, Juanita Walker.
A funeral service will be conducted at noon Friday at Johnson Funeral Home in Vallonia, with Michael Hogg officiating. Burial will follow at Vallonia Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
