Harold Alvin Rahn, 95, Seymour, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Lutheran Community Home.

Born Sept. 15, 1917, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Henry A. and Sophia Schepman Rahn. Harold was married to Mildred "Mickey" Hageman on Aug. 4, 1956, in Seymour.
Harold graduated from Seymour High School in 1935. He was a decorated World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, Pacific Theater, and received four Bronze Stars. He was a self-employed carpenter and home builder.
Harold was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, where he served as elder and on various committees and boards. He was also a member of the Seymour Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Eagles and Dudleytown
Conservation Club. He loved his family and his dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years; sister-in-law, Lowima Schneider; and many nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Erna Rahn.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch and the Rev. James Rodriguez officiating. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 89, V.F.W. Post 1925, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
