Harry C. Spray Jr., 69, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at his son's home in Jackson, Mo.

Born Aug. 23, 1943, in Seymour, he was the son of Harry C. Sr. and Virginia G. Carmichael Spray. He was married on Jan. 18, 1969, in Oklahoma City to Janet Malone. She preceded him in death July 25, 2007.
Harry spent his childhood in Brownstown, graduating from Brownstown High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Indiana University and finished his education at Bellarmine University, earning his master's in business administration degree. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a sergeant and served in Vietnam.
He retired from Modine Manufacturing in Jefferson City, Mo., as the human resource manager. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City and served on the board of Learning in Retirement for Lincoln University.
Survivors include one son, Jeffrey (Shelby) Spray, Jackson, Mo.; one daughter, Jennifer (John) Weiskopf, Castle Rock, Colo.; two sisters, Elizabeth Helwig, Cortland, and Mary Lou (Richard) Thayer, Pensacola, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Blake Kingree, Sarah Weiskopf, Bryce Weiskopf, Gavin Weiskopf and Kate Weiskopf.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 38 years, Janet Spray.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Freeman Chapel, Freeman Mortuary, in Jefferson City, Mo., with the Rev. Rod Maples officiating. Graveside services and entombment with full military honors will be held in the mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church,
or Southeast Hospice.
