Jack D Giles

The Guest Book is expired.

Jack D. Giles, 74, Nashville, passed away at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Brown County Health and Living Community.
Born May 9, 1939, in Bedford, he was the son of Arvern W. and Nora G. Brewington Giles.
Jack spent his childhood in Bedford attending high school and enjoying his life with friends and family. In 1962, he joined the U.S. Army to serve his country. Jack was assigned to Italy. That is where he met the love of his life, Regina Boscato.
Jack and Regina were married Sept. 12, 1963. They returned to the U.S. in February of 1964. Jack worked as a security officer at Cummins Inc. until he retired in 1996. Jack and Regina made their home in Nashville. Regina worked and managed the Fiesta Restaurant in Columbus and Nashville for 20 years. Jack and Regina were loyal friends of Fiesta owners Irene and Harold Moore and children.
In 1981, Jack converted to Catholicism. He found great comfort in his religion. Regina and Jack attended church every week to celebrate life and their love. They remained members and supporters of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville. There are many loving friends of the church who will miss Jack.
Jack Giles was a friend to many. He was the kind of friend who never questioned, never doubted, always gave and always supported. Whenever you needed Jack, he was there. He was true and protective. Jack always protected his loved ones, especially Regina. One thing you could always be sure of was, Jack would tell you the truth.
Jack had a great sense of humor, laughing at himself as well as situations. He would be the first to admit a mistake and apologize. He didn't live to hurt your feelings. He was a sensitive soul, very compassionate to everyone.
So this is the kind of human being we loved and we will miss. This is the human being who was "our family" and whom we will always remember in many moments of our lives. He will always be with us, always remembered.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Regina Boscato Giles of Nashville; brother, Larry Giles; sister-in-law, Jymme Giles; nephew, Takodah Giles of Seymour; sisters, Renda Lawson and Trafina Bennett of Columbus; nieces and nephews; and cousins, Mary Ann and Richard Arthur of Ellettsville and Donna and Clifford Hammond of Bedford.
Mr. Giles was preceded in death by his parents; aunts and uncles, Ennis and Roy Giles, Avis and Walter Pilgrim and Aunt and Uncle Brewington. Always family, always with us.
