James D. Lyons, 66, of Brownstown passed away at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at his residence.

James worked construction most of his life. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2693. He enjoyed family and friends and loved making things from wood for others.
Born Dec. 7, 1946, in Gallatin, Tenn., he was the son of Willard Lyons and Oma Mae (Jones) Stuller.
Survivors include three sons, Gayland, Buckston and Halcomb Lyons; one daughter, Mandy (Rickey) Rich of Shelbyville; three sisters, Judy Lyons and Willa Nixon both of Brownstown and Janie (Bob) Branaman of Medora; three grandchildren, Austin and Dustin Grubbs and Lauren Rich; and several nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Medora Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Cremation will follow services.
