Melinda Shelle Hensley, 43, of Salem, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Salem Crossing.
Born Oct. 15, 1970, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Jerry Hensley and Lois Tompkins Hensley Abbott, both of whom preceded her in death.
Melinda was a 1989 graduate of Crothersville High School and attended Vincennes University. She was a member of the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in Salem. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and cross-stitching. She loved traveling to Utah last year with her congregation to the Mormon headquarters.
Survivors include her sisters, Robin (Tim) Nehrt of Crothersville and Jamie Mull of Austin; five nieces and nephews, Tiffany Jo (David) Orrill, Shawn Donald (Brittany Coomer) Hensley, Rebecca Lynn Loraine Hensley, Derek Eugene Mull and Ryan Mull; a great-niece, Samantha Jo Orrill; and a great-nephew, Blaydin Hensley.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1500 N. Shelby St. in Salem, with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home and Crematory and from 3 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
