On Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, the Lord called Rayetta "Bootsie" (Golden) Lee, Norman, home to be with her husband, son and family.
The Guest Book is expired.
Mrs. Lee worked as a homemaker and home health aide and was the pastor of The Lily of the Valley Christ Church. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved reading the Bible, writing, singing and preaching the word of God. She devoted her life to the Lord and helping others. Her favorite gospel song was "Thank You Lord for Your Blessings On Me." If there were medals for mothers, she'd win every one.
Born March 12, 1938, in Bell County, Ky., she was the daughter of George Ervin and Viola Vivian (Warren) Golden. On April 10, 1987, she married David L. Lee in Jennings County.
She is now smiling down on her three daughters, Linda Gail Duckworth, Etta "Lee" (Justin) Miller and Roberta "Bobbie" (Jeff) Hunter; five grandchildren, Heather (Scotty) Adams, Valerie (Brandon) Scurlock, Michaela Hunter, D'Artagnan Calvert and Jestik Miller; and three great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Cockerham, Ayden York and Blayklee Adams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Lawrence Lee; son, Edward Lawrence Stringfield; five sisters, Lorraina Golden, Gwindoine "Gwen" Stamper, Beuanna Golden, Mary George Golden and Evelyn "Ted" J. Robbins; and four brothers, Walter E. Golden, Thomas A. "Buddy" Golden, the Rev. Lane W. Golden and Paul C. Golden.
Family asks that memorials be written to Anchor House in Seymour in memory of Bootsie.
All arrangements have been entrusted to Voss Funeral Service and Tri-County Crematory, Seymour.
