Rolf Cyliax, 81, Columbus, passed from this life Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Cyliax was an engineer at Cummins Engine Co., retiring in 1987 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed photography.
Born June 16, 1931, in Cologne, Germany, he was the son of Kurt and Herta Steinmuller Cyliax. He married Margret Shtrottkamper in 1959, and she preceded him in death in April 2007.
Survivors include sons, Jim (Beth) Cyliax, Brownstown, and Ingo (Jessica) Cyliax, Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Huffman, Columbus; and grandchildren, Eric, India and Jensen Cyliax and Kaisha, Lucie, Albert, Roman and Alex Cyliax.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
In keeping with Mr. Cyliax's wishes, cremation is planned. There will be no funeral service.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver and Glick Funeral Home, 1029 Washington St., Columbus.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1088, Columbus, IN 47202. Donation cards also are available at the funeral home.
