Rose Bernadine Savonen passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at the Seymour Crossing nursing home.

Rose attended school in Spring Hill, Minn., and college in Antigo, Wis. Rose and Carl were previous owners of A&W Drive-In Restaurant and CowTown Steakhouse, both formerly in Seymour.
Rose was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Elks Club, Elks Auxiliary, Legion of Mary Auxiliary, Hospital Guild and Farm Bureau. They spent most of their married life in Seymour, where they enjoyed showing and caring for their quarter horses.
She was born in Springhill, Minn., the fifth child of Frank and Mary (Braun) Weisser. In 1948, she married Carl Lewis Savonen Jr.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Karl Savonen; granddaughter, Traci (Chad) DeBord; two great-grandsons, Jordan and Dylan Peters; and two sisters, Lee Lengas and Lal Zimmer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and five sisters.
A private memorial service will take place at Voss Chapel followed by a private entombment at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or to the donor's choice of charity.
All arrangements have been entrusted to Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Seymour.
