Ruby Haag Brown

Ruby Haag Brown, 96, of Dublin, Ga., and formerly of Brownstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at her residence.
She traveled with the circus for 50 years and enjoyed the circus life, performing many shows, including The Mighty Haag Shows, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, the Circus Hall of Fame and Shrine circuses. She performed aerial acts such as the Loop Walk and the Spanish Web and was famous for being carried in Alice the Elephant's mouth by her leg. She was fondly remembered for Miss Ruby's dog act.
She lived 20 years in Donna, Texas, and spent her last two years in Dublin with family. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star 29 of Royal Center, Ind.
She was the daughter of Charles William Fisher and Ruth Eleanor Gregory, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Eugene Haag, Sr. She then married Fred Leo Brown and he preceded her in death in 2006.
She is survived by a son, Harry Eugene (Patricia) Haag Jr., Dublin.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Ernest Haag; a daughter, Naomi Ruth Haag; two sisters, Josephine Silverlake and Sarah Evelyn Fisher; and a brother, Arthur Gregory Fisher.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown.
