Velma Jean Woodson, 75, of Scipio, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility, Columbus.

Born Jan. 7, 1938, in Muncie, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Donovan and Betty Wilhite Knapp. On May 15, 1955, in Muncie, she married Jerry Lee Woodson, who preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1973.
Velma attended Faith Baptist Church in Scipio. She was a homemaker and enjoyed painting, fishing, going to flea markets and auctions.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Lee Woodson Jr., Sheila Marie Woodson and Lutricia "Lulu" (David) Rains; grandchildren, Karissa Blount, Jeannie Woodson, Jerry Lee Woodson III and Brittany Siegelin; five great-grandchildren; half brothers, Delbert, Eddie and Tracy; and half sisters, Ceann, Connie and Angie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, George Donovan; and sister, Phyllis Higdon.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Tommy Woodson officiating. Burial will take place at Reddington Cemetery with a Voss dove release.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
