Wendell Lee Minnick, 72, of Seymour, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at his residence.

Born Sept. 19, 1940, in Brazil, he was the son of William Earl and Mildred Fay (Chambers) Minnick. He married Constance M. Nicely on April 6, 1973, in Danville.
Wendell was a 1959 graduate of Brazil High School. He worked for General Motors Allison Transmission for 36 years, retiring in 2001. He was an active member of Central Christian Church in Seymour, where he had served as a deacon and a past member of Brazil Elks Club and United Auto Workers Local 933.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Connie; children, Wendell L. (Isabell) Minnick Jr. of Taipei, Taiwan, Tonya (Christopher) Pierce of Brazil, Tracey (Tim) Berkshire of Columbus, Tamra (Kevin) Smith of Brea, Calif., and Rhonda Williams of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Linda) Minnick of Knightsville; and a sister, Susan Freeman of Brazil.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Everett E. and Daniel J. Minnick.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lewis Wright officiating. Burial will take place at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Schneck Medical Center Hospice or the Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center.
