Wes Guffey, 73, of Newberry, passed away at 2:14 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Daviess Community Hospital, Washington.

Wes was a heavy equipment operator for Poindexter in Indianapolis and local union 841.
Born May 7, 1939, in Wayne County, Ky., he was the son of Linza Ray and Pearl (Rhoades) Guffey.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna K. Guffey, Newberry; children, Jack Guffey of Seymour and Pam Leach of El Paso, Texas; step-sons, Doug Pearson of Indianapolis and Tim Pearson of Bloomfield; sisters, Anita Shelton of Bedford, Wanda Lane of Medora and Vivian Stonecipher and Ruth Humble, both of Monticello, Ky.; two brothers, Mack Guffey of Monticello, Ky., and Kenny Guffey of Mitchell; 11 grandchildren; and five great-
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Robert King officiating. Interment will follow in Newberry cemetery.
Visitation will be conducted from 10 a.m. until time of service today at the funeral home.
