Nancy Pottschmidt, 77, Seymour, passed away at 7 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at her residence.

She was a homemaker and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Seymour, where she was very active with the choir, was a Sunday school teacher and a Lutheran Braille worker. She was also involved with the Parent Teacher Association, Girl Scouts and Republican Women.
Born on July 25, 1931, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of Alfons and Laura Taskey Frey, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 14, 1957, she married Gerald Pottschmidt at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour.
They were married for 51 years, and he survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Andrew Pottschmidt, Khris Pottschmidt and Steven (Beth) Pottschmidt; a daughter, Anna (Jim) Pratt; and six grandchildren, Nicholas, Ava, Kourtney, and Whitney Pottschmidt and Abbey and Sam Pratt.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Frey; and a sister, Betty Bartsch.
Pastor Daniel Lepley and Pastor Andrew Currao will conduct funeral services at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Seymour, at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Braille workers or Hospice of Schneck Medical Center.
