Ronald A. Welch, 72, Columbus, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Mr. Welch retired in 1998 from Reliance Electric Co. after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Seymour Country Club and was an avid golfer and owner/operator of R.A.W. Golf.
Born Dec. 1, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of Elmer and Mildred Reed Welch, both of whom preceded him in death.
He married Emmalee Taggart in Nashville on Dec. 12, 1959, and she survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Robert) Vrlik, Crown Point, and Kelly (Perry) Schoon, Cullowhee, N.C.; sisters, Carol McCarty, Crawfordsville, and Beverly Noble, Paoli; and grandchildren, Jackson Vrlik, Rylee Schoon and Sawyer Schoon.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Welch, and sister, Linda Hall.
Virgil Clotfelter will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, Jonathan Moore Pike, Columbus.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
In keeping with Ronald's wishes, cremation is planned.
