Scott Carpenter, 45, of Seymour passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Mr. Carpenter was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was a 1985 graduate of Seymour High School and was a machinist at Valeo Sylvania in Seymour. He was a member of the Eagles Club. Scott enjoyed hunting, NASCAR and all of his many friends. He loved his dog, Tommy, but the joy of his life was being a loving and devoted father to his daughter, Courtney.
Born June 24, 1967, in Seymour, he was the son of Robert J. and Phyllis (Strietelmeier) Carpenter.
Besides his daughter, Courtney, he is survived by his parents; brother, David (Laura Kirk) Carpenter; and two nephews, Sam Carpenter and Ben Carpenter.
Pastor Jeffrey Stuckwisch will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Ceme-
Friends may call from noon until time of service Thursday at the church.
