Timothy Lee "Tim" Huff, 49, Deputy, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at his residence.
Timothy was raised in Deputy, residing there all of his life. He was a 1981 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School and was a certified arborist through Purdue University. He was employed with Townsend Tree Service for 15 years as a supervisor. He then co-owned and operated H&L Tree Trimming Service.
Tim worked for the past 10 years for Jackson County REMC in Brownstown as the right of way supervisor. Tim was a faithful member of Solid Rock Community Church near Deputy. He enjoyed Indiana University basketball, raising cattle and his farm, tractor pulls, building garden tractors, hunting, fishing and his grandchildren. He was awaiting the birth of his fifth grandchild. Tim was a devoted son, loving brother, husband, dad and papaw.
Born June 13, 1963, in Seymour, he was the son of Jasper Jr. and Norma Lou Ray Huff. Tim was first married to Phyllis Graham. On Nov. 16, 1985, in New Hope Baptist Church, he married Nancy Creech.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Creech Huff of Deputy; two sons, Timothy Jason "T.J." (Heather) Huff and Justin Lee Huff, both of Deputy; one daughter, Norma Nichole "Nickie" Huff of Deputy; mother, Norma Lou Ray Huff of Deputy; grandchildren, Quinton Jay Huff, Sydney Kay Huff, Jeremy Allen Parker and Cayden Lee Huff; three sisters, Barbara (Rick) Warren, Teresa (Ricky) Shuler of Austin and Brenda (Ron) Cardinal of Deputy; one brother, Danny Dale Huff of Bernie; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David Creech of Hanover, Scott Creech of Hanover, Robin Creech of Deputy, Angie Creech of Deputy and Denna Creech of Hanover; uncle, Kenneth "Doc" Powell of Deputy; aunt, Betty Ray Kinnard of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jasper Huff Jr., who died May 19, 1998; brother, Mark R. Huff, who died Dec. 20, 2008; and grandparents, Jasper Sr. and Hattie Huff and Homer P. and Estella N. Ray.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, with the Rev. Mike Shuler officiating. Burial will take place at Lick Branch Cemetery near Deputy.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from
9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials in memory of Timothy to the Tim Huff Memorial Fund.
