Jeffrey Paul Lanam, 51, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at his residence.
Born Dec. 1, 1961, in Seymour, he was the son of Arthur Paul and Janet Helen (Childs) Lanam.
Jeffrey was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and was a former employee of Walmart Distribution Center. A 1980 graduate of Seymour High School, he attended Ball State University and received an associate's degree from Ivy Tech Community College. He was a member and a former officer of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed photography and his cats, Tippy and Tiny. He had a loving nature and a heart for service to others. Following his heart, he volunteered with the Special Olympics and had been a wonderful caretaker to his mother when her health failed.
Survivors include two brothers, Scott (Karen) Lanam and Steve (Joann) Lanam; a sister, Libby (Jim) Shinolt; nieces and nephews, Eric (Sarah) Lanam, Josh (Lacey) Lanam, Andy (Chelsea) Lanam and Ian Castetter; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Shayla, Alexa, Luke, Oliver, Liza, Samuel, Keenan and Kamryn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-niece.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with Deacon Mike East officiating.
Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home. There will be a rosary service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday before visitation.
All arrangements have been entrusted to Voss and Sons Funeral Service and Tri-County Crematory, Seymour.
Condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral home, and memorials may be written to Special Olympics, Hospice of Schneck Medical Center or St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
