David Matthew Howard Sr. LEBANON, Va. David Matthew Howard Sr. passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, in Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 13, 1958, a son of the late Emory Bruce Howard and the late Thelma Mae Johnson Howard, he was the husband of the late Melissa Hughes Howard. David was a former policeman for the Town of Honaker and a former employee of Southwest Security in Lebanon. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Casey Dean Howard. Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Howard; a son, David Matthew Howard Jr.; stepddaughters, Robin Stanley and Michelle Blankenship; grandchildren, Dalton Howard, Alyssa Howard, Little John Stanley, Katelyn Stanley, Dekota Blankenship, Mikey Blankenship, Dillon Blankenship, Kiera Blankenship, and Kayla Deel; sisters, Teresa Herbert and husband Glen Herbert, Ruby Lawson and husband Roger Lawson and Darlene Cribb; brothers, Max Howard and wife Helen, Roger Howard and wife Angel, Bruce Howard and wife Snoopy, Bobbie Joe Howard and wife Lisa and Chuck Howard; special friend, Jimmy King; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Dewey Helbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Willis Family Cemetery. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
