Myrtle Irene Marshall LEBANON, Va. Myrtle Irene Marshall, 91, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, in the Russell County Medical Center. Born July 28, 1919, in the Drill Community, in Russell County she was a daughter of the late Garland Bruce Owens and the late Maudie Francis Sanders Owens. She was of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters, Josie Hess, Beulah Hess, Ida Hubbard and Emmie Hess; two brothers, Estil Owens and Ernest Owens; her husbands, Ernest Peck, John Hollaway and Marvin Marshall; a great grandson, Dustin Peck. Survivors include seven sons, Claude Hollaway and wife Margaret, Ernest (Lee) Peck and wife Carole, Estil Peck and wife Eula Mae, James Peck and wife Debbie, Curtis Peck and wife Teresa, Bill Marshall and wife Alma Ruth and Rollie Marshall and wife Sandy; two daughters, Nancy Shanks and Mary Sue Helbert; 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Hubbard; one brother, Charlie Owens. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, in the Combs Funeral Service chapel with Rev. Ralph Dye and Rev. James (Tuck) Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the Reynolds Cemetery on Kent's Ridge. Serving as pallbearers will be: Claude (Allen) Hollaway Jr., Edward Peck, Eddie Smith, Cody Peck, Jason Peck, Billy Gary, Josh Gary, Joe Asbury and Anthony Leonard. Gene Hubbard, Walt Boardwine, Burke Hess, Charlie Hess and Kevin Peck will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at the funeral home. Combs Funeral Service, 291 Fincastle Road , Lebanon, VA 24266, (276)889-4444 is serving the family of Mrs. Marshall.

My deepest sympathy to all the family. Irene was a wonderful,caring person. Loved by all that knew her ,a beautiful lady inside and out one of a kind, will be greatly missed by all that knew her and loved her. My prayers go out to all, trust in God he will get you through this sorrowful time .
