Amber Elizabeth "Tudie" Thomsen Amber Elizabeth "Tudie" Thomsen, 15, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Niswonger Children's Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Thursday, June 16, 1994, in Abingdon, Va. Amber was a lifelong resident of Bristol. She was a student at Tennessee High School and attended Euclid Avenue Baptist Church. She was active in Awana Clubs, Euclid Avenue Youth Group and AANR East Youth Group. She enjoyed playing with her pets, basketball, and floating in a special creek but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her little sister and family. She also enjoyed artwork and she loved to play Wii. She is survived by her parents, Tim and Laura Thomsen; sisters, Brooke Thomsen and Christina Hampton and husband Justin; niece, Bentley Hampton; nephews, Parker and Preston Hampton; special cousin, Charlene Harman and husband Danny; and several aunts and uncles. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:45 Saturday afternoon, Nov. 14, 2009, at Euclid Avenue Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 o'clock with Dr. Bob Jones officiating. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Derrik Bruce, Dr. Lisa McGregor, Dr. David Kalwinsky, Dr. Kathy Klopfenstein, and Dr. Marcella Popescu of St. Jude; Dr. Norbert Liebsch, Dr. Charles Reidel, Dr. Greg Gagnan, and Dr. Robert Keating; nurses at the St. Jude Clinic in Johnson City and of the second floor at Niswonger Children's Hospital; the nurses at National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, D.C.; the staff at Ronald McDonald House in Washington D.C., and Memphis, Tenn.; Mr. Kind, and teachers at Vance Middle School and Anderson Elementary School; Euclid Avenue Church and Youth Group; AANR East Youth Leadership Camps; Simone and Josh Sommer; and The Chordoma Foundation Condolences and memories can be shared with the family and viewed by visiting www.oakley-cook.com Ms. Thomsen and her family are in the care of Oakley Cook Funeral Home in Bristol Tennessee.

Tim and Laura and family,

Amber fought a long and courageous battle these past 5 years. I have such sweet memories of her when she was in my class in 6th grade. She is in a better place, the suffering is over, and she is whole again. She smiles down on us as we celebrate her life. Please know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I went to Anderson Elementry School and on up to THS with Amber.
She was such a nice and caring person. She will never be forgotten, and she will always be in our memories. I have great memories with her. My paryers go out to her family & close friends. She will be missed!

My heart cries out for you, your in my prayers, I wish i was there to give you a big hug, help you to be strong. Amber was a beautiful, brave, sweet, loving girl,and more, now she is a beautiful angel watching over you. July 23 i donated my hair to locks of love in honor of Amber. Amber was a beautiful and special young lady- She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

I have happy memories of Amber in my fifth grade class at Anderson. She was such a wonderful girl.
