Anna Marlene Hicks Strouth BLUFF CITY, Tenn. Anna Marlene Hicks Strouth, 70, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 11, 2010, from Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born in Bristol on Dec. 2, 1939, to Jess and Kate Hicks and was the widow of Carlton Eugene Strouth. She was a lifelong resident of Bristol, and was retired from Smith-Klyne Beecham. She was a lifelong member of Addilynn Memorial United Methodist Church and loved flowers, gardening, traveling and her family. Mrs. Strouth was a breast cancer survivor. In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sons, Tim Strouth, Matt Strouth and his wife, Connie, and Mike Strouth and his special friend Rene' Gragg; her brother, Jimmy Hicks and his wife, Sue; grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Andrew, Emily, and Orbry Strouth; great-grandson, Jacob Malaki Strouth; brother-in-law, Stanley Strouth and wife, Earlene; sisters-in-law, Eloise Strouth, Josie Thomas, and Helen Marita Malone; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Cathy Browder, Rachel Jenkins, Patty Cassell, and Helen McCoy; and her feline companion, Tom. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Sunday evening, June 13, 2010, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held a 11 o'clock Monday morning in the Paul Cook Memorial Chapel of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home with the Rev. Lloyd Jones and Dr. Stan Anderson officiating. The committal service and interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim, Mike, Matt, Adam, Aaron, and Andrew Strouth. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Strouth, Charles Jenkins, Howard Tester, and Jim Hicks. The family would like to extend special thanks to Doctors Roger McSherry, Michael Rowell, David Thompson, Sue Prill, Kevin Cornwell, the nursing staff of MICU, Susan Early, and the staff of 2 West. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309 and the Bristol Heart Association P.O. Box 544, Bristol, VA 24203-0544.
