Arthur Potts

Arthur H. Potts Arthur H. Potts, age 85, passed away Dec. 15, 2009, at Wesley Lang Community Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. He was born in Bristol Tennessee on March 24, 1924. He lived most of his life in Bristol. The past two years, he and his wife had been living in Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Greensboro. Mr. Potts was a member of Central Christian Church in Bristol Tennessee. He was a World War II Navy veteran and retired from Unisys. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Carmen McGarry Potts; and his brothers, Edgar Potts, Robert Potts, Joe Lee Potts and Bill Potts. He is survived by: wife, Helen Morton Potts; children, Patricia Collins and husband Dick of Smithfield, Va., and Carmen Rock and husband Jim of Greensboro; grandchildren, Jamey Rock and wife Sally of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Elise Rock of Greensboro; sister, Peggy Taylor of Bristol Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Weaver Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Glenwood Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Ross Dampier officiating.
