Barbara Jane Bedell Sinnett A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Jones officiating. At the conclusion of the service, you may come join the family for 'food and fellowship' at Weavers Family Care Center across the street. Barbara Jane Bedell Sinnett, was promoted to glory on Oct. 25, 2009. She was born Oct. 7, 1925, in Charleston W.Va., but moved to the Bristol area in the mid 1960's. She was the daughter of the late Joel Ferree Bedell and Dorothy Jane (Courtney) Bedell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. "Jim" Sinnett, on Dec. 5, 2002. They had been married just short of 57 years. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Martha "Marty" Rathbone; and a brother, Joel Bedell III. Mrs. Sinnett had been employed by The Falconer Company as a proof-reader and was a member of Addilynn United Methodist Church. Barbara had been a resident of Broadmore Assisted Living in Bristol for the past three years and her family would like to thank the staff of Broadmore for being so kind to her and her dog. Barbara was a very kind and giving person with a sweet and gentle spirit and seemed to be liked by everyone she came in contact with. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Debby Sinnett of Bristol; her daughter, Nancy Vernon of Bristol; four grandchildren, Matt and Stacey Sinnett of Newton, N.C., and Lesley and Hunter Vernon of Bristol; sisters, Lynn Truslow of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Mary Stewart of Winston-Salem, N.C.; very special dog and constant companion for the past 14 years, Sally. At her request, her body was cremated and her ashes will be buried along with her husband in the VA Mountain Home Cemetery in Mountain Home, Tenn.
