Bertha Dameron

Bertha Dameron KINGSPORT, Tenn. Bertha Dameron 91, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2010, at Brookhaven Manor. She had been a resident of the area for 25 years and was formerly of War, W. Va., and Laurinburg, N.C. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church of Tazwell County Va. She is preceeded in death by her parents, Thomas Steele Whitt and Louisa Childress. Also preceeding is her husband, Aubrey E. "Sport" Dameron; sons, James I. "Jim" Dameron, Aaron E. "John" Dameron, Jackie W Dameron; and daughter, Sandra Wallace. She is also preceeded in death by five sisters; three brothers; and three half brothers. She is survived by one son, Jerry D. Dameron Sr. and wife Clara of Blountville; two sisters, Rose Hinkle of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Ida Freeman of Gray, Tenn. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special brother-in-law, William "Bud" Presnell. The family will recieve friends Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Tricities Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow with Brother Jim Moore officiating.
