Bertha Elizabeth Powers BEE, Va. Mrs. Bertha Elizabeth Powers, age 93, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, in a Richlands, Va., hospital. Born Aug. 29, 1917, in Red Jacket, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late James Bascom and Hulda Tiller Dean. She was a 1935 graduate of Burch High School in Delbarton, W.Va. She was a member of Bee Pentecostal Church of God for 46 years. She is and will be greatly missed by so many family and friends. She never met a stranger or anyone she couldn't love. Smiling, praying, and inviting you to church, she was ma to all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Barry Duane Browning; and one brother, Chester Dean. Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Rev. Carson Powers of the home; one son, C.B. Powers and wife, Carmel of Litchfield, Ohio; one daughter, Gail Ellis and husband, Carl of Varney, W.Va.; grandchildren, Terry Powers and wife, Robin, Tammy Dressler and husband, Bob, Timothy Powers, Greg Browning and wife, Robin, and Trina Kirven and husband, Preston; great-grandchildren, Kirsten Browning, Tate Kirven, T.J. Powers and wife, Jess, Rachael Powers, and Brittany Dressler; and five great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Va., with Rev. Grady McGlothlin, Rev. Giles Ball, and Rev. Andrew Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be David Stevens, Dustin Tiller, Goebel Stevens, Harold Hackney, Pat Barrett, and Leck Ray.
