Bertie M. McCoy NORA, Va. Bertie M. McCoy, 72, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at her home. She was born in Dickenson County, Va., daughter of the late Allard L. and Ruby M. Carico Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd S. McCoy. She was a member of Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church, Nora. She is survived by one son, Greg McCoy (Jim Cole II) of Westmoreland, Tenn.; three daughters, Lisa McCoy of Brushy Ridge, Va., Kathy Davis of Church Hill, Tenn., and Julie Bates and husband, Bryan of Norton, Va.; three sisters, Daisy Mitchell of Sandy Ridge, Va., Annette Skeens of Brushy Ridge, and Mae Wise of Brushy Ridge; four brothers, Beecher Mitchell, Carlos Mitchell, Lester Mitchell, and Ronnie Mitchell, all of Brushy Ridge; six grandchildren, Gina, Adam, Kevin, Ronnie, Jansen, and Roy; six great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Bertie M. McCoy will be conducted at 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Va., with Rev. Lester Mullins and Rev. Freddie Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Mitchell Family Cemetery, Nora. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Va. The family wants to give special thanks to caregivers from Dickenson County Home Health and Dr. Miller and staff of the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center, Norton, Va.
