Bessie Marie Cale MARION, Va. Bessie Marie Cale, age 89, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Francis Marion Manor. Ms. Cale was born in Smyth County to the late Roscoe and Olsie Sexton Russell and was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolene Haga; two grandchildren, Kevin Cale and Anita Hamm Bear. She attended the Marion Church of God. Survivors include: two daughters, Imogene Cale and husband Fletcher, Marion, Linda Hamm and husband James, Marion; three sons, Robert Cale and wife Naomi, Charleston, S.C., Richard Cale and wife Hazel, Marion, Roy Cale and wife Carol, Marion; three brothers, James Russell, Marion,m Raymond Russell, Marion, Carl Russell, Marion; two sisters, Virgie Sexton, Marion, Eunice Spencer, Marion; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; many special friends at Francis Marion Manor including Shannon Knapp. At the request of Ms. Cale, there will be no public funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Activity Fund at Francis Marion Manor, 100 Francis Marion Lane, Marion, VA 24354. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com Bradley's Funeral Home, Marion, is serving the Cale family.
