Beverly McKinney Jr. WHITEWOOD, Va. Beverly McKinney Jr., age 75, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, in a Richlands, Va., hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in Buchanan County and was the son of the late Bev and Hattie Margaret Horn McKinney. He had made his home in the Whitewood area all of his life and was a disabled miner, mechanic, and truck driver. He was a member of the Living Word Outreach at Pilgrims Knob, Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Teressa McKinney; one granddaughter, Melissa Spring McKinney; one son- in-law, Randy Damron; four sisters, Goldie Horn, Arlene Horn, Raymona Stacy, and Ruth Hooker; and one brother, Curtis McKinney. Survivors are: his wife, Norma Judy Jackson McKinney; one daughter, Donna McKinney Damron of Richlands, Va.; two sons, Dale McKinney and wife, Suzy of Whitewood, Darren McKinney and wife, Tammy of Richlands; four sisters, Maude St. Clair of New Castle, Va., Margaret Cole and husband, Grat of Jewell Ridge, Va., Carol Campbell and husband, Charles of Stanton, Va., Yvonne Cole and husband, James of Martinsville, Va.; four grandchildren, Sonya Whitt and husband, David, Neyia Beavers and husband, Shawn, Miana Bonds and husband, Chris, and Brooke Gross and husband, Jeremy; two great-grandchildren, Alissa Whitt and Jordyn Beavers. Funeral services for Beverly McKinney Jr. will be conducted Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, with the Rev. Jack Ward, Rev. James Ray, and Rev. Troy Lester officiating. Interment will follow at the McKinney Family Cemetery on Brown Ridge, near Jewell Ridge, Va. Pallbearers will be: David Whitt, Chris Bonds, Jeremy Gross, Shawn Beavers, and nephews. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be: Paul Horn, Sam Galliaer, Larry Odum, Kyle Robinson, Steve Miller, Clark Horn, Arthur Horn, Paul Horn, Kenneth Cantrell, Dr. Jamal Sahyouni, and Jim Jackson.
