Blanche Kathleen Benge Nelson BRISTOL, Va. Blanche Kathleen Benge Nelson, age 85, passed away on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born May 10, 1925, in Todd, N.C., a daughter of the late William McKinley and Nora Grubb Benge, and she lived most of her life in the Bristol area. She was a homemaker and was a member of King Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was widowed by her husband, Paul Allen Nelson. She is survived by: children, Paula Nelson, Kathy Hayter and husband Mark, Nada Moore and husband Jim; three grandchildren, Christy Robbins, Todd Maxfield, and Sonnie Moore; eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service for Mrs. Nelson will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Mountain View Cemetery with Rev. Gary Garland officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to NHC Healthcare. Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home.
