Burl James Lilly Burl James Lilly, 81, passed away at Bristol Regional Medical Center on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010. He was born in Washington County, Va., on Oct. 21, 1929, to the late James H. and Opal Pierce Lilly. Burl was a lifelong resident of Washington County and served in the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Georgia Lilly. Survivors include his wife, Nell Selfe Lilly; and his brother-in-law, Earl Selfe. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guest book. The family of Mr. Burl James Lilly is under the care of Farris Funeral Service, 427 E. Main St., Abingdon, VA 276-623-2700.

Nell, so sorry to hear of Burl's passing. I often think of our visit a year or two ago, and am sorry I never got back to see you Guys again. I have some great memories of my next door neighbor in the valley and will always cherish those times Gene McCray
