Charles C. Henson

Charles C. "Bud" Henson Charles C. "Bud" Henson, age 79, 425 Bunker Hill Road, Bluff City, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. He was a native of Sullivan County. Mr. Henson was a son of the late Frank and Nettie Lyon Henson. He was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. Mr. Henson enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Reva Lee Henson; an infant son, Bobby Charles Henson; a brother, Russell Henson; and a sister, Francis Bennett. Survivors include five children, Janie Carr, Elizabethton, Steve Henson and wife, Louise, Hartsville, S.C., Judy Galloway and husband, Roger, Bluff City, Tenn., Debby Perry and husband, Jerry, Hickory, N.C., Tim Carr and wife, Diane, Bluff City, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Samantha Pickering, Chris Carr, Erica Chapman, Wendy Kent, Brandon Kent, Christy Kite, Daniel Dupkoski, Debbie Smith, Tina Huggins, Roger Galloway Jr.; 13 great grandchildren, Taylor Pickering, Zachary Carr, Kirstin Carr, Joshua Carr, Caleb Kent, Chris Davis, Jayden Dupkoski, Elijah Dupkoski, Tyler Smith, Hunter Smith, Abegail, Chapman, Adelaide Chapman, Elizabeth Chapman; three sisters, Jennie Lou Henson, Bluff City, Margaret Richardson, Bluff City, Eva Depew and husband, Junior, Oledean, N.C.; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mr. Henson will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Bobby Stout and Rev. Charlie Biggs officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service or friends may also call at the residence at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
