Charles Edward Haga SALTVILLE, Va. Charles Edward Haga, age 82, went to be with his Heavenly family on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Francis Marion Manor. He was born Jan. 27, 1928, in Washington County, Va., he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Wright Haga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Poore Haga; brother, Herbert R. Haga; and granddaughter, Angel Martin Kestner. He was a long-time employee of the Plasterco plant U.S. Gypsum and a retiree of Brunswick Corporation, Marion, Va. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Phillippines during World War II. He is survived by three children, Mark and wife Robin of Saltville, Linda and husband Dennie Carroll of Camden, Tenn., and Landon Robins of Narrows, Va.; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Marion Manor, Blue Ridge Medical Specialists, and Dr. Pote and staff for their loving care and kindness. Funeral services for Charles Haga will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at the Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Don Petty officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Rose Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home or at the home of his son Mark Haga anytime. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Madam Russell United Methodist Church in Saltville; or the Saltville Rescue Squad. Pallbearers will be grandsons and close family members.
