To the Jarrard Family:
Today I learned of Mr. Farnham Jarrard's passing from Jan Quinlan, Director of Alumni Relations at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, Farnham's alma mater. I wish to extend my condolences to you and tell you what a pleasure it was to learn about Farnham while doing research for the Nominations and Awards Committee of the LU Alumni Association board two years ago. It became clear, as I contacted and interviewed people who knew and worked with Farnham, that he exemplified the ideals of a liberal arts education. I was so pleased to have had the opportunity to meet Farnham briefly at the Reunion Convocation last June at which he received the George Walter Service to Society Award on the Lawrence campus. Our college was proud to recognize the accomplishments and community engagement of such an outstanding individual. My sincere sympathy to you in your loss.

Amelia - I regret that I didn't get to know Farnham better, but he was always ready with a smile and a joke for me as he sat on the steps across the street. I so looked forward to your visits, and I hope that you will come to think of me as a part of your extended family. With love and deepest sympathy. I am so very sorry....

To the Jarrard Family,

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to you. I worked with Farnham for a number of years when he was on the City Council. He was one of the smartest and most honest men that I have ever known. I was a member of the Washington county Board of Supervisors and the county and city accomplished many good things together thanks to his knowledge and skill. We all knew that of all those that we worked with at the city, that Farnham could be trusted and had a great skill of negotiating a deal. Not only does Bristol, but also Washington county and the entire area owes a debt of gratitude to him for all of his caring and hard work. I am proud to say that he was truly a dear friend.

My thoughts and prayers, as well as those of many people of Washington county that had the pleasure of working with Farnham, are with you all.

Dear Bunk, Geri, David and Amelia: Uncle Farnham's legacy certainly lies in all his accomplishments and his giving to his fellow individuals. I will always remember him when we were kids in Hazel Crest and Olympia Fields, in Lake Geneva, and later when I attended AISC functions with my father. He always seemed calm and took the time to listen and truly cared about family. He was a unique individual. He will be missed and my thoughts are with you.

Your cousin,

Susan
