Christeene Blevins Sheets GLADE SPRING, Va. Christeene Blevins Sheets, 80, passed away Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born May 17, 1930, and was a daughter of the late Banner and Nina Elizabeth Blevins. Mrs. Sheets received vocational certification through Virginia Polytechnic Institute and retired from the Washington County School System after teaching for 35 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ansel Sheets; a brother, Tedd Blevins; and two sisters, Mildred Mathes and Trula Browning. Survivors are her sons, and daughters-in-law, Ross H. Sheets and wife, Kathy Hill Sheets and Lloyd A. Sheets and wife, Nancy; and grandchildren, Annie, Abram and Jacob Sheets; special niece, Barbara Stephenson; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Mt. Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring. Interment will follow. The family will be receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Farris Funeral Service. I am so sorry for your loss, you all do not know me, but I sure loved your mother, she was the best teacher I ever had. She was so kind to everyone, we shared a very special friendship thru the years. I was able to be in her one year class for two years, because I could not tolerate the strong odors in cosmetology. She was a very special lady. She always told the girls that sweeping would keep your waist line thin. She always had clean floors in her class.Love and prayers Judy Baldwin Widener
