Cora Lee Woods BRISTOL, Tenn. Cora Lee Woods, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, in the Wellmont Hospice House. She was born March 9, 1920, in Bristol Virginia, a daughter of the late George and Bessie Woodby Widner, and lived her life in the Bristol area. She was a retired employee of Bristol Jeans, Inc., and was a member of Holston Valley Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James "Jim" Woods; son, Roger D. Woods; sisters, Mary Newman and Margaret Wesner; and brother, Bill Widner. Survivors include: sons, James "Jim" Woods, Bob Woods and wife Shirley, Jack Woods, Gary Woods and wife Margo; brother, James Widner; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thanks to Wellmont Hospice House, Cambridge House, and the many friends and family members who have supported us. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, 6 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Rowlette officiating. The burial will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Cleveland Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Please accept my sincere sympathy. I always loved Jim and Cora so much. When we were growing up and I would stay with my grandparents I loved coming to Jim and Cora's home. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.
