Corinne Broyles WATAUGA, Tenn. Corinne Broyles, 85, went home on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late George W. and Nannie Lyons Taylor, and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Evan Broyles in 1956; four brothers, Herman, Delmar, Emmert and Clarence Taylor; two half-sisters, Elizabeth Peeks and Stella Roberson; seven half-brothers, Henry, Reece, Brooks, Elbert, Roy, William and David Taylor. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and quilting and was a member of Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church which she had attended since birth. Mrs. Broyles is survived by a daughter of the home, Debra Broyles; sister, Florence Daugherty; Elizabethton; two brothers, Eugene Taylor and his wife, Lucille, Elizabethton, Walter C. and his wife, Juanita, Elizabethton; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Broyles Crowe, Elizabethton. Survivors also include a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. The funeral service for Mrs. Broyles will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at 7 p.m. in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton, with Rev. Derl Curry officiating. Music will be under the direction of Joyce Grindstaff, soloist, and Scott Reynolds, organist. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 7 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service and at the residence anytime. The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Daugherty Jr., Richard Good, Warren Perry, Bill Greene, Gene Fleenor, Allen Morris, Chip Bailey and Don Shell. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Clark, Jerry Daugherty Jr., Kyle Daugherty, Clarence Taylor Jr., and all present and former members and pastors of Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery at 9:15 a.m. Friday. Those who prefer memorials, in lieu of flowers, may make donations to the Free Will Baptist Family Ministries, Inc., 90 Stanley Lane Greeneville, TN., 37743.
