Darren Stafford KINGSPORT, Tenn. Darren Stafford, 43, tragically passed away on Mon day, Dec. 6, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Darren resided in Kingsport most of his life before moving to Joelton, Tenn., near Nashville. He was a graduate of Sullivan North High School and Middle Tennessee State University. He worked in the Nashville area for the past 15 years. Darren was a gifted musician, singer and songwriter. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dan Stafford; his maternal grandparents, Ross and Pearl Greear. Survivors include his wife, Kahtrina; his parents, Don and Sheila Greear Stafford; his only brother, Derek Stafford and wife, Robin; niece, Olivia Faith; two nephews, Jeff and Jordan; and his special grandmother, Billie Jo Stafford. The family is honoring Darren's request for cremation. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ray Amos officiating. Music will be provided by Tim Stafford of Blue Highway. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Ward, Lee McCown, Chad Doub, Jeff Doub, Mike Greear, Shawn Greear, Roger Sutherland, Lance Salyer, Vince Roberts and The Catawampus Band members. A private entombment of cremains will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
