Dorothy Louise Amos CASTLEWOOD, Va. Dorothy Louise Amos, 74, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol Tennessee. She was born in Dante, Va.; daughter of the late Banner and Agnes Hurd Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Elden Amos Sr.; one son, Daniel E. Amos; one granddaughter, Monica Hicks; one brother, Lonnie Bill Phillips; and one special nephew, Randall Barnette. She was a member of the Dante Church of God. She is survived by six daughters, Linda Sue Mullins of Castlewood, Va., Irene Robinson and husband, Dale of Castlewood, Va., Terri Hicks and husband, Danny of St. Paul, Va., Carolyn Evans and husband, Rick of Coeburn, Va., Sherry Amos of Castlewood, Va., and Angela White and husband, Randy of Lebanon, Va.; six sons, Marvin Elden Amos Jr. of Johnson City, Tenn., Tony Amos and wife, Sandy of Cleveland, Va., Roger Amos and wife, Evangeline of Johnson City, Tenn., Steve Amos of Johnson City, Tenn., Doug Amos of Blountville, Tenn., and Jeff Amos and wife, Angelica of Lebanon, Va.; two sisters, Hazel Barnette of Castlewood, Va., and Ruth Phillips of Dante, Va.; four brothers, Paul E. Phillips of St. Paul, Va., Arthur L. Phillips of Dante, Va., Rev. Ted Phillips of Castlewood, Va., and Jerry Phillips of Dante, Virginia; 26 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews . Funeral services for Dorothy Louise Amos will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Va., with Rev. Curtis Dalton officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Va. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Pallbearers will be Michael Amos, Cody Hicks, Jamie McCoy, Robbie Amos, Ronnie Barnette, James Barnette, Jacob McConnell, and Travis Ingle. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Va.
