It was my pleasure to teach under Mr. D. C. Pratt at Honaker Elementary School. I recall what he said once when someone broke into the school and stoled something. "A lock is to keep and honest man honest, a thief will get in anyway." I have repeated this many times through the years, always remembering where I heard it. My condolences to the Pratt family. God bless.

I will always fondly remember Mr. Pratt's 8th grade history class...having to memorize the population of Fayette County in 1973 and learning the phrase, "as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs." He was also a tremendous asset to the Inman United Methodist Church.
May he rest in peace. His poetry and positive influence as an educator will live on.
