Douglas Funk

Douglas Lee Funk Sr. COEBURN, Va. Douglas Lee Funk Sr., 73, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at his residence in Coeburn. He was a former employee of Clinchfield Coal Company, Glamorgan Coal Company and also self employed. He was the son of the late Samuel and Ollie Adkins Funk, also preceeded in death by one sister, Julia Funk and four brothers, Alex Funk, Hoover Funk, Fred Funk and Paul Funk. Survivors include one son, Douglas Lee Funk Jr., and wife, Tracy Bond Funk, Coeburn; four brothers, Bruce Funk, Ulysses Funk, Emmitt Funk, and Bascom Funk, all of Coeburn; two granddaughters, Brittany Funk and Makayla Funk, Coeburn; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Douglas Lee Funk Sr. will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Clarke and the Rev. Curtis Bond officiating. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. prior to the memorial service. Private burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Coeburn.
