Ebert Luther "Mutt" Finley DAMASCUS, Va. Ebert Luther "Mutt" Finley, age 68, formerly of Whitetop, Va., passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the home of his sister, Juanita Trivett of Damascus. He was born March 3, 1942, at Whitetop, to Claude W. and Lucy Haga Finley. Surviving, daughter, Tricia Finley of Illnois; brother, Linnie Finley and wife, Edith of Lansing, N.C.; two sisters, Vada O'Neal and husband, Ray of Barnesville, Ga., and Juanita Trivett and husband, Darrell of Damascus; sister-in-law, Pat Finley of Lansing, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews also survive. The body is at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Va. Funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Helton Valley Baptist Church, Whitetop. . Elder Lundy Finley Jr. and Rev. Charlie McCoy officiating. Interment to follow in the Cole Cemetery, Whitetop. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday night from 6 until 8 p.m. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, is serving the Finley family.
