Edna Barnes

Edna (Garrett) Barnes CROSSVILLE, Tenn. Edna (Garrett) Barnes, age 91, formerly of Blountville, Tenn., passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. She was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Ashville, N.C., daughter of the late Milton and Ruth (LeSueur) Garrett. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Adams Chapel Methodist Church in Sullivan County, Tenn. She is survived by daughter, Grace May (Richard) of Crossville; granddaughters, Becky Brown (Andy) of Crossville, Beth May of Winchester, Tenn., Margaret Barnes of Sarasota, Fla.; Gretchen Leclezio (Dominque) of Bradenton, Fla.; grandsons, Dr. Mack N. Barnes Jr. (Nicky) of Birmingham, Ala., Garret T. Barnes (Liz) of Bradenton; sister, Frieda Houston of Piney Flats, Tenn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Mack Nathaniel "M. Natt" Barnes; son, Dr. Mack N. Barnes Sr.; brother, Frank Garrett; sisters, June Vance, Beatrice Bosmer. A graveside service will be held Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time at Gunnings Cementery in Sullivan County, with a memorial service following at Adams Chapel Methodist Church at 3 p.m. with Rev. Billy Byrd officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to Bread of Life Mission, 281 W. Fourth St., Crossville, TN 38555.
