Edwin Jack Perry COEBURN, Va. Edwin Jack Perry, 81, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010, at the Norton Community Hospital Norton, Va. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and was Past Commander of the VFW Post No. 8652 Coeburn. He attended the Midway Church and was a member of the Coeburn Masonic Lodge No. 97 A.F. & A.M. and was a retired employee of VICC as a field superintendent. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Jo Nell Perry; four sons, Jack Edwin Perry Jr. and Donna Kay of Easley, S.C., Wayne Perry and Penny and Eddison Perry and Vanessa, all of Coeburn, and Randy Perry and Kim of Norton; three daughters, Jan Favors and Herrell of Phenix City, Ala., Robin Reasor of Ellijay, Ga., and Beth Snodgrass and Scott of Wise, Va.; three brothers, David Perry of Coeburn, Beecher Perry of Marion, Va., and Greg Perry of Coeburn; two sisters, Lorraine Blankenbecler of Coeburn and Brenda Goodnough of Culpeper, Va.; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 14, 2010, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Midway Church, Coeburn. Masonic and funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. with Pastor Kermit Evans and Brother Les Ritchie officiating. Graveside and military services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, by the Local VFW members and the U.S. Marine Corps at the Greenwood Acres Cemetery, Coeburn. The family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession. Memorial contributions may be made to the Midway Church, P.O. Box 1723, Coeburn, VA 24230.
