Effie Lee Richardson Sheets

Effie Lee Richardson Sheets CHILHOWIE, Va. Effie Lee Richardson Sheets 91, went to be with the lord Oct. 21, 2010, at Johnston Memorial Hospital with her family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Wesley and Ollie Richardson of Taylor's Valley, Va. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Verna Barr, Stella Wood and Mary Shortt; one brother, Marvin Richardson. She was a member of Chilhowie Christian Church. She also served as secretary of Taylor's Valley Church of Christ for many years. She worked at Lincoln Furniture Company in Damascus, Va., for many years. Effie was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Floyd Sheets, Chilhowie; two sons, Ralph sheets and wife Brenda, Abingdon, Va., James Richardson and wife Evelyn, Taylor's Valley, Va.; sister, Martha Pennington, Green Cove, Va,; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the 4th floor doctors and nurses at Johnston Memorial Hospital Abingdon, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Chilhowie Christian Church with Rev. Frank Branson and Steve McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct.23, prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery Chilhowie, Va. Arrangements by Williams Funeral Home, Chilhowie.
