Eleanor "Toots" Severt KONNAROCK, Va. Eleanor "Toots" Severt, age 72, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. She was a life long resident of Washington County, Va. and was the daughter of the late Conley and Clara Trivett. She graduated from Damascus High School and was a member of Azen Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Trivett, Milton Trivett, Ernest Trivett, and Gene Trivett. She is survived by her husband, John Severt; one daughter, Clara Severt of Konnarock; one brother, Juston Trivett and his wife, Delores, of Macon, Ga.; two special sisters-in-law, Eva Shumate and Aleese Trivett both of Konnarock; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Johnnie Osborne officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Azen Cemetery in Konnarock with Pastor Leonard Tenney officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Mt. Rogers Volunteer Rescue and Fire Department, P.O. Box 47, Whitetop, VA 24292. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Thursday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.garrettfuneralhome.com.
