Elmer Clifton Prater MEADOWVIEW, Va. Elmer Clifton Prater, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola A. Prater. He is survived by three sons, Rocky M. Prater and wife Cindy of Abingdon, Va., Paul Prater and wife Connie, of Abingdon, Lane Prater and wife Nancy of Cedar Bluff, Va.; one brother, Harry Prater of Glade Spring, Va.; three sisters, Ollie Morrison of Sidney, Ohio, Virginia Trent of Glade Spring, Elizabeth Sheppard of Abingdon; seven grandchildren, Ryan Prater, Natasha Prater, Ashley Prater Curtis, Timothy Prater, Marissa Prater, Rachella Prater, and Bethany Prater; two great-granddaughters, Montana and McKennzie. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at the Henderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Hale officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Blackwell Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Family and friends may also visit at the home of Rocky and Cindy Prater, 18285 Spring Lake Road, Abingdon, VA; or at the home of Lane and Nancy Prater, 1914 Raven Nest Branch, Cedar Bluff, VA, at anytime.
