Elmer Fore Obituary
He was born in Washington County, Va., to the late William Arthur Fore and Florence Victoria Ritchie Fore. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Signal Corps during World War II. During his military service, he was stationed in France, Germany and Normandy. He had been employed as the body shop manager at Bostic Ford in Abingdon, Va. He had served as a deacon at Old Glade Baptist Church and was member of Chilhowie Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret Fore; one brother, Ballard Fore Sr., Tampa, Fla.; his brothers-in-law, Gerald McClure and wife Barbara Billy McClure; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Rowland and husband Doug, and Helen Klarpp and Deannie Louraine Fore.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at the Chilhowie Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Herrell, the Rev. Matthew Herrell and Brother Charles Keith officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Glade Baptist Church Cemetery, with full military honors rendered by the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to family at www.bradleysfh.com.
