Esther Kim Fields GLADE SPRING, Va. Mrs. Esther Kim Fields, age 52, a resident of the Old Mill Road section of Washington County, Va., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Kansas the daughter of Charles Tamayo and Mary Louise Archer, and was preceded in death by her mother; and a son, Charles Glenn Tamayo, who passed away in 2008. She graduated form Emory & Henry College with honors and was the first recipient of the Razor Award at Emory & Henry College. She received her master's degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. Her passion was teaching and had taught as a substitute teacher in Washington County, Va. She was a proud veteran and served in the U.S. Army. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Fields of Glade Spring; one son, Leslie Locke of Texas; one sister, Larue E. Thompson of Texas; one half-sister, Alexis Miller of North Carolina; and one half-brother, Charlie Tamayo of Texas. She is survived by her five loving grandchildren. Inurnment for Mrs. Esther Kim Fields will be conducted at Arlington National Cemetery on Dec. 8, 2010, at 11 a.m., with full military honors.
