Etta Violet Smith Mitchell BRISTOL, Va. Etta Violet Smith Mitchell, age 88, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 29, 1922, in Benhams, Va.,, a daughter of the late Edward and Clara Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Mitchell; and her son, Charles Douglas Mitchell. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Edith Smith; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Benny Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home.
