Etta Violet Smith Mitchell BRISTOL, Va. Etta Violet Smith Mitchell, age 88, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 29, 1922, in Benhams, Va.,, a daughter of the late Edward and Clara Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Mitchell; and her son, Charles Douglas Mitchell. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Edith Smith; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Benny Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at NHC Healthcare for their love, support and prayers. Online condolences may be registered at www.weaverfuneralhome.net Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. My mother and I worked with her at Coles/Revco year ago. I also had the pleasure to see her at least once a month when our church does a service at NHC. Sadly that is where I found out today that she had gone home. God bless you. Connie Jackson
